Interest in Arts

It all began with my first Russian made camera Lubitel 2, at the age 13. I learned much of the needed techniques with this camera.

Then came my second camera  Lieca M3 which was introduced in 1954.  More complicated than my Lubitel but remarkably easy compare to what we have in the market today.

Photos taken during the period of 1957 to 1962 became the subject of my first exhibition along my paintings at 18 at the University of Jundi Shapour.  In 1966 while working in the field, I created a photography club offering courses in theory and applications.

The Roads traveled from Iran to USA passing by European countries when they were divided into eastern and western from 1975, to the Middle and far East, Africa and finally recently Cuba thought me many beautiful faces of photography and a need for it.

I was born in an island on the northwestern tip of the Persian GulfAbadan.

I planned to be become an architect. However,

in 1961 not by choice but by chance I end up with Agricultural Engineering college. Four years after, in 1966, I graduated with distinction from the Jundi Shapour University, ( built by shapour 1 of Sassanid dynasty about 1550 years ago). After four years of working, in 1969, I entered the Utah State University in Logan Utah. I obtained my Master in Applied Statistics in 1971 with distinction ( GPA 4.0).  Finally for my Ph.D. in Statistics I went to the Oregon State University in Corvallis and in December of 1973,  I graduated. I returned to Iran in December of 1973, and start teaching in Jundi Shapour University.

My university carrier continues from 1981 with the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland as a Professor of Statistics and Operations Research, where I did most of my scientific contributions. Most my academic activities can be found in:
